Do's and Dont's

1. When 'resizing' one image to fit another don't SCALE it with the scale function. RESIZE image in a separate window. Scaling tends 'grain' or 'smear' the details and a repeated process of scaling all textures used will produce a lesser quality in TGA.

2. Avoid high contrast shadows and highlights. Its unrealistic.

3. Avoid resizing UP with images , resizing DOWN works. Upwards drains definition.

4. Don't work to scale, work double size your images intended size. Then shrink.

5. NEVER accept the offer to go 'and see some puppies' from sweaty handed men.

6. NEVER use Contrast/Brightness controls to alter and image. ALWAYS use LEVELS and move the middle bar (generally) to the right and even the image out.

7. Always take the Saturation/Hue levels down after using Levels.

8. Never forget scale. Remember the players head sees at 64 pixels high. 4 brick high wall textuers 128by128 SUCK. Makes player feel like in Lego Land. There are about 10 bricks needed in height for a 64 high texture.

9. Never rub another mans ruhbarb.
