SKINHELP SECTION - Quake2 Base Skins

Well I SWORE that I was never gonna do it again but here I am offering too much help to you all again....

In the Original version of Quake I ended up making a set of 20 odd base skins with which you could all use 'AS A BASE FOR YOUR OWN SKINS' i.e merely a starting point to speed you up on the way to making 'YOUR OWN SKIN DESIGN'. It didnt work out this way, people ended up just using the base skins without modifying them other than cutting and pasting bits of my other skins onto the base skins and then snipping all my signatures off the skins, releasing them as their own skins , into competitions and worse....

I was to say the least MAJORLY disapointed, and quite often annoyed too when I saw the travesty that people had made of my hard work, would you beleive there were people out there fool enough to cut and paste from several of my skins and then send them to me for praise claiming that theyd done the skin all by themselves? I shit you not...

Anyway, thats my self indulgent bit of waffle over with. As ultimatly its just me spitting in the wind, those that are gonna steal my skins will be stopped by nothing and noone I have realised this, indeed thats why I only sell skins now as that way if someone steals my work I havent as much cause to get upset as I've already been paid for my time. Aye, its due to people abusing what I try to do for them that I no longer produce work for public use....

I do however realise that theres still plenty of people needing help and many genuine people out there who are just looking for a jumpstart towards making their own skins who DO appreciate a little help, its because of them that I'm releasing this set of base skins for the male model.

I hope you like them, I hope they help you in making your own skins and I trust that you will do as I ask and leave my signature on the skins as a mark of respect to the fact that I did the base. It'd be nice to see people truly altering them and I hope it helps some people to learn a little more about shading styles...
