SKINHELP SECTION - Quake3
Seeing your Skin INGAME...
The correct way now to save and see your skins ingame is to make a PK3 file.
PK3 files are just zip files. You can make a .zip file with winzip of your skins
then rename the .zip to .pk3
Be sure to make a new winzip file without compression from the root directory
of your hd tho. It must maintain the correct
directory structure also.
The skins are saved as TGA or JPG's. A Head Icon should be made as a seperate 64by64 TGA for the selection screen.
The skins are instructed upon which model they are 'tagged' onto thru .skin files.
.skin files are just .txt text files and once a text file is saved it can be changed to .skin like the .zip is renamed to .pk3.
You
can now download a program called the SkinLinker
by Rick 'Krow' Stirling from Skinning
101 that takes care of this process for you leaving
you only to make the skin art itself.
